Benoni B. Edin

Benoni B. Edin received his M.D. degree in 1983 and his Ph.D. degree in physiology in 1988. After spending 2 years as a Postdoc at the laboratory of James H. Abbs, the University of Wisconsin, he returned to UmeƄ and has since then been engaged in neurophysiology research and teaching medical physiology. His primary research is focused on human somatosensory physiology and in particular the functional properties of muscle spindle and nonglabrous skin afferents studied with behavioral and electrophysiological techniques. As such, his fields of expertise include sensory physiology, dexterous manipulation, and the role of sensory mechanisms in motor control.
