Maythem Saeed After receiving his PhD, in 1983, from the Department of Applied Physiology, School of Medicine, University of Freiburg, West Germany, he completed one year fellowship at the same department in West Germany. From 1984-87, he served as an Investigator at the Huntington Memorial Hospital and Institutions in Pasadena, CA, USA. In 1989, he acquired a two-years NIH Fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy and subsequently. He served as an Assistant and Associate Professor of Radiology, Department of Radiology, School of Medicine, University of California San Francisco, California from 1990-1997. Since 1997, he has been serving as a Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging until today. Major accomplishments, include: service on the Editorial Board of several medical journals, namely Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Contrast Media and Molecular Imaging, World Journal of Radiology and Editor-In-Chief Chinese Medicine as well as service as a reviewer of more than 20 scientific journals; publications of more than 200 manuscripts in international journals and 21 book-chapters; over 20 National and International Awards in the field of cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and 3 US patents.
