Peter Jeff Maughan
Peter Jeff Maughan received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in agronomy from Brigham Young University (1990 and 1991) and his Ph.D. degree in molecular genetics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (1994). Maughan was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois from 1996 to 1998 and worked as a Project Lead for Monsanto Company from 1998 to 2002. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Plant and Wildlife Sciences, Brigham Young University. He is a recipient of the College Outstanding Teaching Award (2011) and the John A. Widstoe Research Fellowship (2008). His areas of expertise are molecular marker discovery, genetic linkage mapping, plant transformation, and genomics.
