Yasuhiro Tanimoto received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Nihon University, Japan, in 1995 and 1997, respectively. After that, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in engineering from the Kyoto Institute of Technology in 2001 and a Ph.D. degree in dental science from the Nihon University in 2004. He served as a Research Associate at the Department of Dental Biomaterials, School of Dentistry at Matsudo, Nihon University in 1998, and he is currently an Associate Professor at the Nihon University. His research interests include the development of new calcium phosphates for bone substitutes, numerical analysis of dental implants by means of finite element method, and experimental characterization of biomaterials and dental materials. He received the Dental Materials Adviser (2003), the Dental Materials Senior Adviser (2004), and the IADR-DMGC-J Memorial Award (2009) from the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices.
