Guangtao Zhai

Guangtao Zhai received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in 2001 and 2004 from Shandong University, Shandong, China, and the Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2009. From August 2006 to February 2007, he was a student intern in the Institute for Infocomm Research, Singapore. From March 2007 to January 2008, he was a visiting student in the School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. From October 2008 to April 2009, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, where, from January 2010 to April 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow. From August 2011 to October 2011, he was a visiting researcher in the Department of Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark. Since May 2012, he has been a Research Professor in the Institute of Image Communication and Information Processing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His current research interests include image and video processing, perceptual signal processing, and pattern recognition. Dr. Zhai received the Humboldt Research Fellowship in 2011 and national excellent doctoral dissertation award of China in 2012.
