Julia Y. Lee
Julia Y. Lee, M.D. degree holder, works as a Professor at the Department of Dermatology, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan. She is a Medical Graduate of the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. After medical school, she completed residency training in dermatology (National Taiwan University), pathology (Universities of Pittsburg and Maryland), and dermatopathology (New York University) and became board-certified in these 3 areas. After training, she was first appointed as an Assistant Professor of pathology and dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa, USA, in 1986. Two years later, she returned to Taiwan to join the faculty of the newly founded Medical College of the National Cheng Kung University as an Associate Professor and then Professor in 1994. Postgraduate training bridging across dermatology, pathology, and dermatopathology allows Dr. Lee to enjoy the practice and teaching of clinical dermatology and dermatopathology in a university setting and have a broad range of research interests. She has published more than 200 papers over the years, mainly on the clinical and pathologic studies of various skin disorders including epidermolysis bullosa, chronic arsenism, Merkel cell carcinoma, CTCL, clear cell papulosis, sarcoidosis, rosacea, demodicosis, alopecia syphilitica, tinea capitis, ichthyosiform or antiseptics-induced irritant contact dermatitis, Ofuji's disease, adult-onset Still disease deficiency disease, and ichthyosis.
