David Brown is the Vice Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass, USA. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Division of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a core faculty member of the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency. Dr. Brown is a phi beta kappa graduate of the Princeton University and received his M.D. degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, NY, USA, where he was a Member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He trained at Massachusetts General Hospital and is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Emergency Medicine. Moreover, he is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and chapters and lectures nationally and internationally on topics related to cardiovascular emergencies, which is his primary academic interest. He has been involved in numerous cardiovascular research studies and is the cardiovascular Chief Editor for the online Emergency Medicine textbook at eMedicine.com. He has been recognized by his residents with multiple teaching and mentorship awards and in 2002 won the ACEP National Faculty Teaching Award.
