Jen-taut Yeh received the B.S. degree at the Department of Chemical Engineering, the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1981, the M.S. degree at the Department of Chemical Engineering, the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pa, USA, in 1984, and the Ph.D. degree at the Department of Material Science and Engineering, the Pennsylvania State University, Pa, USA, in 1989. His research fields include barrier polymers, high-performance fibers, functional polymers and textiles, biodegradable polymers, polymer processing, plastic optical fibers, and nanocomposites. In 1989-1990, he served as a Research Associate at the University of Pennsylvania, Pa, USA. In 1990 –1995, he held the position of an Associate Professor at the Department of Polymer Engineering at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. From 2004 to 2008 he was appointed as the Dean of Engineering College Nanya Institute Technology, Jhongli, Taiwan. Yeh has been since 2003 the Coordinator of the Textile Program at the National Science Council, Taiwan. Currently, he is a Professor at the Department of Material Engineering, Kun Shan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan.
