Alfonso Carlosena

Alfonso Carlosena was born in Navarra, Spain, in 1962. He received the M.S. degree (with honors) and the Ph.D. degree in physics in 1985 and 1989, respectively, both from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. From 1986 to 1992, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. Since October 1992, he has been an Associate Professor at the Public University of Navarra, where he has also served as the Head of the Technology Transfer Office. In March 2000, he was promoted as a Full Professor at the same university. He has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Zurich), New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, and spent a sabbatical leave in 2004–2005 with Connection One, Arizona State University. His current research interests are in the area of mixed signal system design, as it applies to instrumentation and communication problems, where he has published over eighty papers in international journals and a similar number of conference presentations. He has been an Advisor of twelve doctoral theses and also held four patents in the field of coin validation mechanisms. Professor Carlosena was recently appointed as a Vice Chancellor for Research of the Public University of Navarra.
