Edvige Veneselli was born in Genoa on April, 27, 1948. She graduated in medicine and surgery and postgraduated in child neuropsychiatry and neurophysiopathology at the University of Genoa, Italy. She is a Professor in child neuropsychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and is also a Director of Child Neuropsychiatry Postgraduate School; of Neuropsychomotor (Developmental) Therapy School, University of Genoa; and of Child and Neuropsychiatry Operative Unit, IRCCS, G.Gaslini Institute. She attended stages for professional qualification at Research of Biology of Neonatal Neurology Development of ENSERM, Paris; Pediatric Neurology Service, Research Laboratory of Neuromuscular Pathology and Laboratory of Electrophysiology at Catholic University of Leuven, Bruxelles; The Neurological Institute, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, NY, USA. Moreover, Dr. Veneselli is a coauthor of 4 books and 20 chapters in 10 books and the coauthor of 467 printed scientific publications, of which n.151 on ISI journals. Her research interests are focused on epilepsy and epileptic syndrome of developmental age, EEG and clinic neurophysiology, neurometabolic and neurodegenerative diseases, autism, and cerebral Palsy. She also won the Study Prize Augusta Alabastro, from University of Genoa. Dr. Veneselli is a Member of the following scientific committees: Scientific Committee of Italian Association of Rett Syndrome (AIR); Scientific Committee of Italian Association Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood – AISEA; Scientific Committee of David Chiossone Institute, Genova. She is also a Member of the following scientific societies: International Child Neurology Association, European Pediatric Neurology Society, Société Européenne de Neurologie Pédiatrique, Società Italiana di Neuropsichiatria dell’Infanzia e dell’Adolescenza, Lega italiana contro l’Epilessia, and Societé Italiana per lo Studio delle Cefalee.
