0000-0002-7366-3417Sarkarainadar Balamurugan serves as an Active Scientist. He received his Ph.D. degree in synthesis, characterization, and superconducting properties of mercury-strontium-based cuprates from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India, in 2002. After gaining seven years of postdoctoral research experience in Japan and Germany, currently he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nanotechnology, Noorul Islam Centre for Higher education, Tamilnadu, India. His research interests are mainly focused on chemistry and physics of materials which include (1) synthetic methodology and characterization of nanomaterials, (2) magnetism and magnetic materials, (3) structure-physical property correlations, (4) high-pressure materials chemistry, (5) crystal growth of functional oxide materials using various flux reagents, and (6) exploration of magnetic and catalytic properties of functional materials. He has published so far about 60 authored and coauthored research articles in various reputed peer-reviewed international journals. He has received awards /fellowships/honors including SERC DST Young Scientist Award, Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Research Fellowship, NIMS Fellowship, MEXT-Monbusho Fellowship, CSIR-SRF, DAE-BRNS-JRF/SRF, and others. Based on his academic and research achievements, he has been elected and is serving as an Editorial Board Member in (i) The Open Superconductors Journal, (ii) Journal of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, (iii) Journal of Physics & Astronomy, (iv) World Journal of Condensed Matter Physics, and (v) ISRN Condensed Matter Physics. Besides these, he has also acted as a referee/reviewer in various international reputed journals and reviewed many research articles with better judgments.
