Marina Mosunjac was born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1963, where she received her M.D. and M.S. degrees (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Zagreb. She has finished her residency in anatomical and clinical pathology and a fellowship in cytopathology at Emory University, Atlanta, in 1997. Since 2005, she serves as the Director of Surgical Pathology Department at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta that averages 12.000 surgical specimens a year serving an economically disadvantaged population including over 4.000 HIV-positive patients. Her current research interest is focused on studying the epidemiological, morphological, and pathobiological changes in AIDS-associated pathology. Mosunjac also has an interest in GYN pathology and cytopathology. She is an active Member of ASC, ASCO, and USCAP professional organizations.
