Rob Krams was trained in The Netherlands (Free University Amsterdam). After a Ph.D. degree in physiological physics, he worked for 1-2 years in the USA, followed by a postdoctoral position in bioengineering in the Thoraxcentre, Rotterdam. In 2004, he became a holder of a Prestigious Established Investigatorship of the Dutch Heart Foundation. This was followed by an Associate Professorship and a Full Professorship in 2007. The Full Professorship was in Imperial College London, on the topic of molecular bioengineering. He is currently involved in research work on the interface of engineering, genomics, and imaging.
