Hammed H. A. M. Hassan

Hammed H. A. M. Hassan was born in Alexandria, Egypt on March 1960. He got his Ph.D. degree from the Insititute Für Organische Chemie, Basel Universitäte, Switzerland in 1993 under the direction of Professor Ch. Tamm then first postdoctoral associate at UCT (South Africa) with Professors J. Bull and R. Hunter (1997, 1998), a short-term visit (STA, JISTEC) at the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (Riken), Japan with Professor Y. Ito (1999), a second postdoctoral position with Professor G. J. Boons at UGA (Georgia, USA)(2001–2002), and a Visiting Associate Professor position at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) (2006) with Professor R. J. Linhardt. His current research interest focused on synthesis of heparin mimetics molecules, bioorganic molecules, biopolymers, and natural products. Hassan is currently working as an Associate Professor of organic chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt.
