Buyong Ma received his B.Eng. degree in polymer chemistry from the Hefei University of Technology in 1984. He received his Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Georgia at Athens in 1995. Currently, Ma works as a Senior Scientist at SAIC-Frederick, National Cancer Institute at Frederick, National Institute of Health. His research interests are computational chemistry and computational biology, with the philosophy of using computational approaches as experimental tools to obtain information from nature. Ma's current research projects cover the areas of protein-protein interaction, protein-nucleic acid interaction, protein aggregation, and systems biology.
