Patrick W. Corrigan
Patrick W. Corrigan serves as a Professor and an Associate Dean for Research at the Institute of Psychology, Ill, and the Institute of Technology in Chicago. Prior to that, he served as a Professor of psychiatry and Executive Director of the University of Chicago Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation. For the past 25 years, he has worked to provide and research services for people with psychiatric disabilities. About 15 years ago, his focus broadened to the stigma of mental illness. He has had support from NIMH to develop and maintain the Chicago Consortium for Stigma Research (CCSR) for the past decade as a Principal Investigator. Recently, the consortium has morphed into a national collection of researchers because of a developing center grant awarded to him. The National Consortium includes colleagues from Yale, UPENN, and Rutgers. He has authored more than 250 papers and 10 books. He serves also as an Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
