Andrew Pickering

Andrew Pickering received his B.S. degree from the University of Durham (UK) in 1988 and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Leeds (UK) in 1992. He has worked at Heriot-Watt University (UK), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), University of Kent at Canterbury (UK), University of Adelaide (Australia), University of Sydney (Australia), and Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), and currently he holds a permanent position at the Department of Applied Mathematics of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain). His research interests are in integrable systems and Painleve equations, including in nonisospectral scattering problems, higher-order continuous and discrete Painleve equations, and Backlund transformations and exact solutions. His research has recently received official recognition with a positive assessment under Spain's I3 program.
