Christopher J. McInerny

Christopher J. McInerny graduated in zoology from University College London, London, UK, in 1986, and went on to to complete an M.S. degree at Birkbeck College London in microbiology. He then undertook a Ph.D. degree in the lab of Peter Fantes at the University of Edinburgh studying cell-cycle-specific gene expression in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe. He next spent two and a half years at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre in Seattle in Linda Breeden's Group working on the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, before setting his own group at the University of Glasgow in 1998. There he continues to study cell-cycle-specific gene expression in fission yeast and was promoted to Reader in 1995.
