Yoshiharu Motoo is Professor of medical oncology at Kanazawa Medical University, Japan. Professor Motoo graduated from Tokyo Medical and Dental University School of Medicine in 1980. He stayed in Dallas, TX, USA, from 1984 to 1986, as a Research Fellow at the Wadley Institutes of Molecular Medicine. He also stayed in Marseille, France, as a Visiting Scientist at INSERM, in 2002. He became Associate Professor at Cancer Research Institute, Kanazawa University, in 2003, and Professor at Kanazawa Medical University in 2005. He is an active Member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He became a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG) in 2000. In addition to cancer research, Professor Motoo has published papers on the molecular mechanisms of the therapeutic effects of Kampo medicine saikokeishito on chronic pancreatitis.
