P. Beck-Peccoz was born in Gressoney St. Jean (Valley of Aosta, Italy). He graduated in medicine at the University of Turin. He is a Full Professor of endocrinology at The University of Milan, and the Director of the School of Specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the same university. He is the Chief of the Endocrinology and Diabetology Unit at the Fondazione Ospedale Maggiore IRCCS in Milan. Beck-Peccoz is the President of the Pituitary Society and the Vice President of the European Society of Endocrinology. He published more than 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals, as well as many chapters in national and international textbooks of endocrinology. His major research interests are in the pathophysiology of hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis with particular focus on the etiopathogenesis and treatment of thyroid hormone resistance and TSH-secreting pituitary adenomas. Beck-Peccoz's Society Memberships include the Italian Society of Endocrinology, the European Society of Endocrinology, the Endocrine Society, the European Thyroid Association (ETA), the American Thyroid Association (ATA), and the Pituitary Society.
