Nadir Demirel was born in Kirsehir, Turkey, in 1970. He obtained his B.S. degree from the Middle Eastern Technical University (METU) in Ankara and his Ph.D. degree from Dicle University in Diyarbakir. He was appointed as Assistant Professor in organic chemistry at Dicle University in 2005 and the same year he held the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry. In 2008, he moved to the University of Ahi Evran in Kirsehir. In 2010, he was appointed as Professor at the University of Ahi Evran. His research interests focus on the synthesis of crown ether, calixarene, ion and molecular recognition, and finally synthesis of chiral ligands and application to asymmetric catalysis.
