Yongfa Zhu

Tsinghua University, China

Yongfa Zhu was born in JianYin City, Jiang Su Province, China on November 23, 1964. He studied at the Department of Chemistry, Nanjing University from 1981 to 1985 and obtained a B.S. degree. The major is physical chemistry and speciality in catalysis. After graduation, he joined the Department of Chemistry, Peking University, and, there, he continued to study physical chemistry and focused on surface chemistry of catalysis. The research work was supervised by Professors Gui Linlin and Tang Youqi. After he finished the Dissertation Paper, “The surface structure of TiO2/Al2O3 and MoO3/TiO2/Al2O3 catalysis,” Zhu obtained an M.S. degree major in physical chemistry. Since he graduated from Peking University, Zhu has worked at the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University. In Tsinghua University, the major research fields are extended to surface chemistry, material chemistry, and analytical chemistry. In the recent 10 years, there are about 120 papers published in academic journals. He obtained a Ph.D. degree from the Tsinghua University after several years of hard work. Besides, he obtained a research scholarship from Japanese Government as a Postdoctoral, which made him do some research on surface ion and neutral molecules TPD. It lasted from October 1995 to March 1997 at the Ehime University, Japan. Zhu returned to the Tsinghua University on March 25, 1997. Since he returned to the Tsinghua University, his research fields have covered surface chemistry, materials chemistry, and ecomaterials and environmental catalysis. Now, there are four major projects in research: (1) photocatalysis, (2) environmental catalysis, (3) nanomaterials, and (4) surface chemistry.
