Chongxuan Liu is a Chief Scientist at US Department of Energy, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, USA. He received his Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering from Johns Hopkins University, USA. His research areas are in geochemistry, biogeochemistry, and reactive transport of metals, radionuclides, and organic compounds in subsurface porous media. His expertise is in the development of mechanism-based mathematical models to describe geochemical and biogeochemical processes and reaction kinetics through iterative experimental and numerical investigations. In 2011, he was named as the Fellow of Geological Society of America for his contribution in geochemical and biogeochemical kinetics and diffusive mass transfer processes.
