Shen-Ming Chen

Shen-Ming Chen was born in Chunghua, Taiwan. He received his B.S. degree in chemistry in 1980 from the National Kaohsiung Normal University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry in 1983 and 1991, respectively, from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. He was a Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow with the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, in 1997. He had been an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Taipei Institute of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, from 1991 to 1997. Since August 1997, he has been a Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. Since 2010, he has been a Distinguished Professor of the National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. He has been the Dean(Curator) of library, National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan, from 2000 to 2006 and the Director of Extracurricular Activity, office of student affairs, National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan, from 1995 to 2000. His research interest includes nanocomposite materials research, electroanalytical chemistry, bioelectrochemistry, electrochemical deposition, modified electrodes, conducting polymer electrochemistry, nanoelectrochemistry, chemical sensors, biosensors, electrocatalysis, electroanalysis, solar cell, and photovoltaic cells. He has published above 160 research papers in internationally peer-reviewed journals.
