Marco Carrozzo was born in Turin (Italy) in 1962. He received his M.D. degree in medicine and surgery in 1992 from the University of Turin, Italy, and specialized in odontostomatology at the University of Turin (Italy) in 1995. He is a Professor of oral medicine at the School of Dental Sciences and an Honorary Consultant in oral medicine at RVI Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Formerly, he was appointed from 2000 until 2007 as a Researcher and a Consultant in oral medicine at the University of Turin. He is an author and a coauthor of 184 scientific publications and of 3 books and 9 book chapters, all on oral medicine. His Hirsch-index is 21. Moreover, he is a member of 6 editorial boards of international peer-reviewed journals. He has done peer reviews for 30 different journals. His research interests include bullous diseases, oral lichen planus, oral manifestations of HCV infection, and salivary gland diseases.
