David Greatrix

D. R. Greatrix received a Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 1987. He is currently an Associate Professor of aerospace engineering at Ryerson University, Toronto, ON, Canada. His research interests include the study of the performance of solid rocket motors and hybrid rocket engines. Under the direction of Greatrix, Ryerson University’s Propulsion Research Facility, in collaboration with industrial partners, has recently completed a successful test firing series for a prototype laboratory-scale hybrid rocket engine, using polyethylene and paraffin as solid fuels.
