Jyan-Chyun Jang received his B.S. degree in forest botany and M.S. degree in plant pathology from the National Taiwan University, Taipei City, Taiwan, and his Ph.D. degree in forest pathology from Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher of biological chemistry at Washington State University, a Postdoctoral Fellow of genetics at Harvard Medical School, and a Postdoctoral Fellow of molecular biology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an Associate Professor at Plant Biotechnology Center, Department of Horticulture and Crop Science, Department of Molecular Genetics, Center for Applied Plant Sciences, The Center for RNA Biology, and Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology Program, The Ohio State University. His research interests include sugar and hormone sensing and signaling plant P-bodies and stress granules.
