Nitin T. Telang, Ph.D., served as an Associate Attending Biochemist at the Department of Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, USA, between 1985 and 1992 and simultaneously as the Director of the Breast Cancer Research Laboratory at the Department of Surgery at the same center. After that, he became an Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, NY, USA, until 2004. From 2004 to 2007, he worked as a Senior Scientist and as the Director at Carcinogenesis and Prevention Laboratory, Strang Cancer Prevention Center, New York, NY, USA. Since 2007, he has been working as the Director of the Cancer Prevention Research Program, Palindrome Liaisons. He is also serving as a Consultant for the American Foundation for Chinese Medicine as well as the University of Bourgogne, Dijon, France. His areas of expertise are preclinical oncology, cell/organ culture and xenotransplant models for epithelial organ site cancer, molecular and biochemical biomarker assays for targeted drug discovery, preclinical lead compound efficacy for prevention/therapy of organ site cancer, and efficacy of natural phytochemicals and herbal medicines for prevention/therapy of breast and colon cancer.
