Guangliang Liu is currently working as a Research Scientist at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Southeast Environmental Research Center at Florida International University, Miami, Fla, USA. After being awarded a Ph.D. degree in environmental science (majoring in environmental chemistry) in 2000, Dr. Liu has been conducting research addressing the fate, transformation, transport, and analysis of a variety of contaminants from toxic metals to natural products and pesticides. His research interests lie at the interface of environmental sciences, chemistry, and geosciences, concerning environmental chemical processes in terrestrial and aquatic systems. He has edited (as the lead editor) a book titled Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology of Mercury and published more than thirty peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters. He has cochaired two special sessions at the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) North America Annual Meetings and delivered a number of presentations at national and international conferences. Dr. Liu serves regularly as a Reviewer for many journals, such as Environmental Science and Technology, Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology, Environmental Pollution, Chemosphere, and Applied Geochemistry.
