Risto Korhonen received the Ph.D. degree in mathematics in 2002 at the University of Joensuu. He is a Research Associate at the Mathematics Department of Loughborough University, UK, from 2002 to 2004. He was a Postdoc at the Academy of Finland from 2004 to 2006 and Academy Research Fellow from 2006 to 2010. Since then, Korhonen has been a Professor of mathematics at the University of Eastern Finland, Finland. His current research interests are in value distribution theory and its analogues and their applications to differential and difference equations.
