Anjali Joshi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, USA. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in immunology from the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University, USA. Joshi completed her postdoctoral training in the lab of Dr. Eric Freed at the National Cancer Institute, NIH, USA. Joshi's lab is interested in studying the late stages of the virus life cycle mainly the virus assembly and budding. Overall, the aim of her research is to provide novel insights into the molecular mechanisms governing the retroviral replication and to apply this information to the development of the novel antiretroviral agents. Joshi's lab also aims to understand the basic biology of other important viral pathogens like the Westnile virus and the dengue virus with the objective to not only advance the field of basic virus biology but also open novel avenues of treatment.
