Dean-Mo Liu received B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering from Chuan-Yuan Christian University, Jhongli, Taiwan, an M.S. degree in materials science and engineering from VPI&SU, USA, and a Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He served as a Research Scientist at the Materials Research Lab, ITRI, Taiwan, starting 1991, and joined as a member of faculty at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) in 2007. He has established a nano-bioengineering lab since 2007 at NCTU, and is now a Professor with the Department of materials science and engineering at NCTU. Dr. Liu has been involved in the design and development of new biomaterials, multifunctional biomolecules, and medical devices used and applied in the fields of orthopedic, dentistry, cardiovascular disorders, anticancer therapy, and wound dressings.
