Tohoku University, Japan

Dmitri V. Louzguine-Luzgin is a Professor at WPI Advanced Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University. He has graduated from Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, National Technical University, Russia, in 1991 and received Dr.Eng. degree at Tohoku University, Japan, in 1998. He is a winner of Young Participating Scientist Award of 9th International Symposium on Metastable, Mechanically Alloyed and Nanocrystalline Materials (ISMANAM 2002) September 8–12, Seoul, Republic of Korea. He has more than 270 scientific publications (Scopus database) in refereed, mostly ISI-sited international journals (240 papers) including 7 chapters in books. For the last 15 years, his studies are focused on the investigation of the structure, thermal stability, phase transformations, mechanical and some other properties of amorphous alloys/metallic glasses, bulk metallic glasses, nanostructured crystalline or quasicrystalline alloys, and composite materials containing nanoparticles embedded in the glassy matrix.
