Zhong-hua Han received his B.S. degree in aerodynamics and flight dynamics from the Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) of China in 2000 and obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in fluid mechanics from the NPU in 2003 and 2007, respectively. Han worked as a Research Scientist from 2007 to 2010 at CASE Division, DLR Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology, Germany. His current affiliation is with the School of Aeronautics of the NPU, where he is the Dean’s Assistant and the Head of the Internationalization Office. Dr. Han is, moreover, a Full Professor at the Department of Fluid Mechanics. His current research interests include surrogate modeling and optimization, efficient aerodynamic shape optimization methodologies, surrogate-based aerodatabase, and design of wind-turbine airfoils and transonic laminar airfoils.
