Luís Sanchez

Luís Sanchez was born in Lisbon, 1948. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in 1981, University of Lisbon and the agregação degree from the same university in 1989. Currently, he works as a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Lisbon. He serves as the Coordinator of Centro de Matemática e Aplicações Fundamentais and as an Editor of Applied Mathematics E-Notes. He is a Member of the Board of Editors of Portugaliae Mathematica from 1981 to 2007. He served as the Chairman of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Lisbon in the academic years 1990-1991 and 1995-1996. He was a Member of the Scientific Committee of CIM (Centro Internacional de Matemática) until 2002. His research interests include boundary value problems for nonlinear differential equations and nonlinear functional analysis. He authored more than 50 research papers on ordinary differential equations and nonlinear analysis.
