Philip Toozs-Hobson serves as a Consultant specializing in urogynaecology at Birmingham Women’s Health Care NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham, England. He completed his medical education at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School and qualified with MBBS degree from the University of London in 1989, followed by an MRCOG in 1994, M.D. degree in 2003 and FRCOG in 2006. He spent over 3 years working for Professor Cardozo in London as a research fellow and then as a senior trainee. He has been the recipient of several awards, including a WellBeing research fellowship in 1995. More recently, he has chaired the British Society of Urogynaecology training committee and sat on the RCOG Subspecialty training committee. He is also the current Secretary Treasurer of UKCS. He was the Lead Clinician on developing the minimum standards in urodynamic practice in the UK document which is now being developed as part of the Modernising Scientific Careers programme by the DoH. Despite being a fulltime NHS consultant he has run a successful research portfolio for over 10 years and raised over £1.5 million in grants and awards. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and written and edited 2 books.
