Myung G. Lee
Myung Gyoon Lee received B.S. degree and M.S. degree in astronomy from the Seoul National University, South Korea, in 1980 and 1984, respectively. He received Ph.D. degree in astronomy from the University of Washington, 1990. He was a Research Fellow at the Observatories of the Carnegie Institute of Washington, Pasadena, USA, from 1990 to 1993. Then he was an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor in the Department of Astronomy at the Seoul National University from 1993 to 2004. He is currently a Professor in the Astronomy Program, Department of Physics and Astronomy at the Seoul National University. He served as Secretary General of the Korean Astronomical Society, and as a member of the editoral board for the Journal of the Korean Astronomical Society. He is currently a representative on behalf of the Korean Astronomical Society for the International Astronomical Union. His research interests are extragalactic astronomy and observational cosmology, including stellar populations, star clusters, Local Group, galaxy clusters, distant galaxies, and extragalactic distance scale. He is a coauthor of the book, The Universe viewed with the Hubble Space Telescope (2000, Seoul National University Press, Myung Gyoon Lee and Bon-Chul Koo).
