Alexander S. Mukasyan

Alexander S. Mukasyan received his Ph.D. degree in physics and mathematics from the Institute of Chemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) in 1986 and his Doctor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the Institute of Structural Macrokinetics, RAS, in 1994. He was invited to work at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Notre Dame in 1995. Currently, he is also a Research Director of the Advanced Electron Microscopy Core at the Notre Dame Integrated Imaging Facility. Dr. Mukasyan is an author of two books and more than 130 invited reviews, research publications in archive journals, and patent letters in the fields of engineering of advanced materials and heterogeneous combustion. His prime scientific interest is related to nanotechnology, high energy density heterogeneous systems, advanced material synthesis, and novel alternative energy sources.
