Tomohiko Ai is Assistant Research Professor of medicine at Krannert Institute of Cardiology/Indiana University School of Medicine, Ind, USA. He received his M.D. degree at Osaka Medical College and Ph.D. degree at Kyoto University in Japan. He has completed his clinical cardiac electrophysiology training at Kyoto University Hospital and his postdoctoral training at University of Missouri. Dr. Ai has been interested in clinical and basic research in cardiac electrophysiology, focusing on genetic arrhythmia such as Long-QT syndrome and Brugada syndrome. His research goal is to explore the role of ion channel and ion channel modifier proteins in genetic arrhythmic syndromes, which can lead to the development of new therapeutic strategy of cardiac arrhythmia.
