Slobodan Milisavljevic

Slobodan Milisavljevic was born in Belgrade in 1965. He enrolled the Medical Faculty in Belgrade in Kragujevac in 1984. He graduated in September 1990 with an average score of 9.14. During the study, he has been repeatedly awarded for his achievements at the university. He has been for five years in the Anatomy Department, Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade as a student assistant and participant in several student congresses. Upon completion of his internship and passing the exam in 1991, Milisavljevic was employed at the Medical Faculty in Kragujevac as a Teaching Assistant for the course in October 1992 and was employed at the Clinical Center Kragujevac, in the clinic for surgery, which began with a specialization in thoracic surgery. His M.S. thesis was entitled "Evaluation of diagnostic and therapeutic procedure in traumatic hemotorax," and he defended it in June 2001 and thereby gained an M.S. degree in medical science. He served as the Teaching Assistant for the specialized science of surgery and was elected in 2002 and worked as an Assistant until 2006. He received a Doctorate degree in the field of thoracic surgery entitled "Prognostic factors in patients with resected pathologic (p) T1-2N1M0 Nonmicrocelluar lung cancer" defended in June 2005 at the Medical Faculty in Kragujevac. In October 2006, he was elected to the position of Assistant Professor of surgery, and in 2011 he was elected to the position of Associate Professor of surgery. Milisavljevic is interested in the field of thoracic trauma, surgery, lung, pleura, mediastinum, and chest wall and presents a fundamental research in this area that is framed in a number of projects and international studies. Dr. Milisavljevic has published many scientific papers, published in scientific journals and books with reviews. Dr. Milisavljevic has a total of 31 papers in journals on the SCI list. Dr. Milisavljevic has served as a Specialist Thoracic Surgeon since 1996 and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Surgery Centre in Kragujevac. Since 2008, Dr. Milisavljevic serves as a Chair of surgery at the Medical Faculty in Kragujevac and from 2010 as the Chair of residency in thoracic surgery at the Medical Faculty in Kragujevac. As part of professional training, he attended a number of labor trainings and continuing education at home and abroad. He is affiliated to a number of domestic and international professional associations. He speaks French and English.
