Simona Zerbi was born in Milan, Italy, on 8th April 1969. She received the degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Studies of Milan in 1994. In 1999, she achieved the specialty in nephrology with magna cum laude from the University of Studies of Milan and in 2007 she attended the University Course on Vascular Access Surgery at the same university. She entered the Nephrology and Dialysis Unit of the Desio Hospital as Nephrologist in November 2000; then, in June 2004, she moved to the Nephrology and Dialysis Unit of the Bolognini Hospital of Seriate, where she actually works. She is mainly interested in dialysis vascular access surgery, hemodiafiltration techniques, and predialysis outpatients care. She is the Secretary of the Hemodiafiltration and Convective Therapies Group of the Italian Society of Nephrology and a Member of the Italian Society of Nephrology, the Vascular Access Study Group of the Italian Society of Nephrology, the European Society of Artificial Organs and the International Society of Nephrology. She is author and coauthor of many scientific papers on national and international journals.
