Jorge Solsona received the Electronics Engineer and Ph.D. degrees from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, La Plata, Argentina, in 1986 and 1995, respectively. He was a member of the Laboratorio de Electrónica, Control e Instrumentación (LEICI), Departamento de Electrotecnia, Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad Nacional de La Plata, between 1987 and 1997. From 1998 to 2003, he was a Researcher of the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas, Argentina, Universidad Nacional del Comahue. Currently, he is with the Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica y de Computadoras, Instituto de Investigaciones en Ingeniería Eléctrica Alfredo Desages (IIIE), Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahía Blanca, Argentina, and CONICET, where he is involved in teaching and research on control theory and its applications to electronics and electromechanical systems. Dr. Solsona is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has served as the President of the Argentinian Join Chapter IEEE Control Systems Society, IEEE Industry Applications Society, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, IEEE Power Electronics Society, and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society during 2007 and 2008.
