Francesco Indiveri was born in Monopoli, Bari, Italy, in 1939. He received his M.D. Degree, cum laude, from the University of Genoa, Genoa, Italy, in 1964. In 1972, he specialized in clinical and laboratory haematology, University of Genoa. He worked as an Assistant Professor of general medicine at the University of Genoa in 1964, an Assistant Lecturer of special medicine pathology at the University of Sassari in 1966, an Assistant Professor of special medicine pathology at the University of Sassari in 1968, an Assistant Professor of special medicine patholology at the University of Genoa in 1970, a Visiting Investigator at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, La Jolla, Calif, USA, in 1977, an Associate Professor of clinical immunology at the University of Genoa from 1980 to 1986, a Visiting Professor at the Department of Pathology, Columbia University, from 1982 to 1987, and as a Professor of internal medicine at the University of Palermo from 1986 to 1989. Currently, Indiveri is a Full Professor of internal medicine at the University of Geno since 1990 and the Head of Division of Internal Medicine and Clinical Immunology. Moreover, he is a Member at Società Italiana di Allergologia e Immunologia Clinica, Società Italiana di Immunologia e Immunologia Clinica, Società Italiana di Medicina Interna, American Association of Immunologists, and Clinical Immunology Society. His research interests are autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, immunogenetics, and cancer immunology.
