Zi-Feng Yan is currently the Chair Professor of State Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil Processing, PetroChina Key Laboratory of Catalysis, and a founding Professor of Chemical Material and Catalysis at the China University of Petroleum, Beijing, China. He has successfully supervised more than 30 Ph.D. and 40 M.S. degrees students and has more than 200 technical publications and confidential client reports. He has made significant contributions to adsorption, catalysis, and nanomaterials R&D and practices including international understanding of dry reforming of natural gas for syn-gas and hydrogen production and CO2 capture technologies; natural gas/hydrogen adsorption storage; fluidized-catalytic cracking catalysis and gasification of solid fuels (coal and biomass). He is the Member of the Editorial Board of Journal Porous Materials (2010) and Materials Research Innovations (2012), the Guest Editor of Journal Porous Materials (2006-2007), Dry Technology (2007-2008), Asia Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering (2008-2009), Energy and Fuels (2009-2010), Catalysis Today (2009-2010), Journal of Environmental Engineering (2012-2013), and the Invited Editor of Chinese Science Bulletin. He was awarded the Shandong Province Research Excellence Awards in 1997, 1999, 2002, 2007, and 2011 for his work on catalysis and new carbon materials, as well as the Top Foreign Researcher with the highest collaborative researches conducted with Iranian researchers in nanotechnology by Iran in 2008.
