Massimo Napodano was born in Pagani, Italy, in 1971. He received the Medicine degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy in 1995 and the M.S. degree in cardiology from the University of Padua, Padua, Italy in 1999, respectively. Since 2003, Napodano is a Senior Interventional Cardiologist at Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and Interventional Cardiology of Padua University. He is mainly involved in percutaneous coronary and structural heart disease interventions. The largest active clinical programs include transarterial and transapical aortic valve implantation as well as conventional valvuloplasty and paravalvular leak closure. Napodano's research interests are in the field of natural history and transcatheter management of heart valve disease; percutaneous coronary interventions in acute myocardial infarction; evaluation and prognosis of myocardial reperfusion; prevention and treatment of no-reflow phenomenon; evaluation and treatment of coronary thrombosis; application and development of intracoronary thrombectomy systems. He serves as a Member of Society for Heart Valve Disease and Società Italiana di Cardiologia Invasiva and is an international Faculty Member of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics.
