David P. Horvath

David P. Horvath received the Ph.D. degree from Michigan State University from the laboratory of Dr. Micheal Thomashow and was part of the team that cloned the first cold-regulated genes from plants. He identified the CBF binding site in the COR gene promoters later proven to play a role in cold regulated gene expression. Currently, he serves as a Research Plant Physiologist for the USDA and is recognized as an international expert in weed genomics and vegetative bud dormancy.
