Luis F. Porrata

Luis F. Porrata received his M.D. degree from the College of Medicine, State University of New York, Syracuse, NY, USA. He is an Assistant Professor at the Division of Hematology and Blood and Marrow Program, Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. His research is on unraveling the mechanism underlying the improved survival related to early lymphocyte recovery after autologous stem cell transplantation, as Dr. Porrata discovered that early lymphocyte recovery after autologous stem cell transplantation predicts superior survival in leukemias, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and solid tumors.
