Frederic Thibault-Starzyk

Frederic Thibault-Starzyk was born in May 23, 1965. In 2012, he became the Director of the Catalysis and Spectrochemistry Laboratory, CNRS, ENSICAEN-University of Caen; 2009, the Research Director, CNRS; 2003-2004, a Visiting Fellow in the Surface Science Group, Prof. Sir David King, Cambridge (UK); 1994, a Chargé de Recherche (Research Scientist) in the CNRS; 1992–1994, a postdoctoral with P.A. Jacobs (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium), grant from the EU Human Capital and Mobility Program; 1992, he received a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry in Caen, with a grant from the National Agency for Research on AIDS (ANRS). His research interests include heterogeneous catalysis, infrared spectroscopy, time-resolved chemistry, interface, and surface chemistry, zeolites, micro- and mesoporous materials. He served as the President of the French Zeolite Association; an Overseas Fellow of the Churchill College, Cambridge, 2004; he received a prize of the Catalysis Division of the French Chemical Society in 2000. He has 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 20 invited lectures, 1 book, and 3 chapters. He served on the Board of the International Conference on Operando Spectroscopy, and a Commission Member of the French National Board for Scientific Research (Comité National; 2004–2008); the Commission of the Belgian Fund for Scientific Research, Flanders (FWO); the French National University Council (CNU; 1999–2003); he also has research contracts with Total, Toyota, Degussa-Evonik, IFP, Rhodia, Michelin Education. He also has habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (1999) and received a Ph.D. degree in 1992 (Caen), Maîtrise (M.S. degree) in organic chemistry in 1988.
