Nikolaos Doulamis received the Diploma degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 1995 with the highest honor and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from NTUA in 2000. His Ph.D. degree thesis was supported by the Bodosakis Foundation Scholarship. From 2003 to 2005, he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Communication Engineering Department of the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece, while from 2005 to 2008 he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School at NTUA. In 2010, Doulamis was elected as an Assistant Professor in NTUA in the field of pattern analysis and signal processing. Dr. Doulamis was awarded as the Best Greek Student in the field of engineering in national level by the Technical Chamber of Greece in 1995. In 1996, he received the Best Graduate Thesis Award in the area of electrical engineering. During his studies he also received several prizes and awards from the National Technical University of Athens, the National Scholarship Foundation, and the Technical Chamber of Greece. He was given the Thomaidion Foundation best journal paper award. In 1997, he was given the NTUA Medal as Best Young Engineer. He has also served as Program Committee Member in several international conferences and workshops. Dr. Doulamis is the author of more than 200 papers, including 15 IEEE Transactions journals and 42 journals papers mainly in ISI archive. He received according to Harzing's Pushing or Perish index more than 1532 citations in his work (h-index=18). He was ranked as the 7th most cited author among all faculty members of the National Technical University of Athens according to the Microsoft Research Academics index. His research work on video modeling was cited as Doulamis Model. He was Chairman Program Committee Chairman for more than 15 conferences/workshops, while he is in the advisory board for more than 20 international conferences.
