Jian-Gang Wang

Jian-Gang Wang received the Bachelor degree in computer science from the Inner Mongolia University in 1985, the Master's degree in pattern recognition and machine intelligence from the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1988, and the Ph.D. degree in computer vision from the Nanyang Technological University in 2001. From 1988 to 1997, he was with the Robotics Laboratory, Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he was appointed Associate Professor in 1995. From 1997 to 1998, he was a Research Assistant at the Department of Manufacture Engineering and Engineering Management, City University of Hong Kong. He joined the Centre for Signal Processing at the Nanyang Technological University as a Research Fellow in January 2001. He is presently a Research Scientist with the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R). He has received the Best Paper Award Honorable Mentions 2008 in the Pattern Recognition Journal. He serves as an Editor of Scholarpedia. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Technical Committee Member of the International Association of Science and Technology for Development (IASTED). His research interests include biometrics, computer vision, and pattern recognition.
